The Attic : Oh man, the attic. What a junked up job the previous owners and the builders did with this part of the house. The stairs were shot, and the decking was terrible. I needed a project to keep my mind occupied while we were waiting for Daniel to come (can't go far from home when a baby is due). Replaced the stairs, fixed the electrical, added some florescent lighting, and properly decked everything to add about 450sq. ft. of storage space to the house for under $300. All of the decking is 3/4" sanded plywood installed with 1 5/8" decking SCREWS (not nails). Wiring and ceiling outlets (in the garage below) are marked on the boards so you can tell where things are located in case you need to pull up a section of decking to do some work underneath.

Kitchen Renovations : The kitchen... What is there to say... The wallpaper is, um... rustic. So far, we've ripped and replaced the faucet, dishwasher, microwave, exterior door, and we're about to ditch the stove for something new. The disposal was replaced before we moved in, and a dedicated hot water tap has been on the horizon for awhile now. Hey, at least we like the tile. :)
